In the second section of this report, we review what international and domestic statistical agencies are doing to measure the key theoretical constructs linked to the labor market effects of technology. Many of the most influential papers in the field draw upon data sources and methods that have considerable limitations. However, the section also underscores that there remains considerable uncertainty about how technology has affected the labor market in recent history and a great deal of uncertainty about the short- and long-term effects in the future. In that section, we find some sources of agreement in the literature and highlight advances in our understanding of the topic. In the first section of this report, we review the social science literature on the effects of automation and related technologies on the labor force and identify some of the key theoretical constructs used in the scholarly literature. With these issues in the background, the BLS commissioned this report to identify constructs that would complement existing BLS products with a goal of ensuring that the necessary data exist that would allow stakeholders to assess the impact of automation on labor outcomes. Having better data related to the labor market and automation technologies could go a long way in helping address the concerns raised by technology. Spurred by a wave of technological developments related to digitization, artificial intelligence (AI), and automation, governments around the world have declared that the creation and deployment of these technologies present both important opportunities and challenges to their citizens. Private and public decisions related to labor markets and working conditions are increasingly being influenced by technological considerations. Its mission is to collect, analyze, and disseminate essential economic information to support public and private decision-making. If anyone has any ideas how to solve this problem, or at least to figure out what is causing it, I would be very grateful for your help. It worked without any technical issues.Īfter that, I reinstalled just TATW 3.2, without MOS. Then I reinstalled Medieval II + Kingdoms 1.52 (STEAM version), and tested the game. Also, I used a registry cleanup tool to try to remove any remnants of the game. After uninstall I deleted the remaining game folder.

I decided to uninstall all the mods and the vanilla game itself. Later I discovered that the black screens would also appear in Medieval II vanilla. These black screens would appear on the campaign map, in battles, but also in the main menu. I tried to fight a battle, but several black screens later, the game would crash to desktop with the message that Medieval II had encountered an unspecified error. It seems to be the same type of black screen you would get when changing the graphics options in the video settings. Just before the black screen would disappear and I would return to the game, for a split second a loading bar would appear near the bottom of the screen. For the duration of the black screen, the mouse pointer would turn into a spinning ring, as if the game was loading something. Suddenly, every couple of minutes a random black screen would appear. Half an hour later I started the game again and reloaded my last save. I didn't have any technical problems with the game at all until a couple of days ago.Įverything was going just fine, when I exited the game to go look something up on google. I've been playing a Rohan campaign in MOS 1.7 with patches 01 through 05 installed for the last month.
